Welcome to the website of author Carol McCuaig and her alter ego, fiction writer Catriona McCuaig.
You can order her non-fiction books here, or read about her novels, which are published in Britain. While most of the non-fiction books are meant to assist people who are searching for their roots in Ontario’s Lanark and Renfrew Counties, her two latest works are of more general interest.
The St Gabriel’s Memory Book is about the little pioneer church beside the Madawaska River in Renfrew County. Published by the St. Gabriel’s Historical Preservation Committee, it was released in late 2012. (For more information please refer to the News & Views section.) Copies of the book can be obtained from the author for $25.00 plus $6.00 shipping and handling. Please note that cheques should be made out to the publishers as shown above.

Encountering the Wild was published in 2011 by Natural Heritage Books, a division of Dundurn Press. Copies are available from the author at $35.00, postage included. This book describes Carol’s adventures with wildlife over a thirty-year period on her rural property in the Upper Ottawa Valley. At Poison Ivy Acres she has seen an ermine in the bedroom, a bear on the roof and a cougar on the lawn. Every day brings with it something exciting in the world of nature. This is a book for all country dwellers and for those who wish they were.
